MaiLynn Mae Marquez was delivered at Yakima Valley Memorial at 1:51 a.m. - three weeks before her due date. She is healthy and happy, weighing in at just over 6 pounds and 17.5 inches long. She has three siblings and two stepbrothers, who are thrilled to welcome a new little sister. Her mom, Amber Contreras, says she may recruit her eldest daughter to help change diapers! Her dad, Jerry Marquez, says it’s very special that she’s a New Year’s baby, and will make sure she sees the ball drop every year on her birthday. Around 2,300 babies are born at Memorial every year.
